The Journey
Gheorghe Virtosu’s narrative mirrors the transformative arc of the modern human condition. Born in 1968 in what is now Moldova, he lived through periods of political control and personal confinement, experiences that deeply shaped his worldview. Writing first became his outlet for expression, eventually giving way to painting as a visual language of emotional liberation.
Self-taught and independent, he traveled widely, absorbing cultural textures from around the world before settling in London. His art blends personal history with global reflection, embodying both the wounds of experience and the resilience that arises from them.
